Playmates Toys won't renew license to produce Teenage Mutant Nina Turtles toys (TMNT)

It is an end of an era after 40 years in or so in partnership Playmates Toys has decided not to renew the license. It is unclear what may have led to this decision, my guess is Viacom wanted more money.

Transformers One now playing in theaters 09/20/2024

Lets find out if Transformers One has a bit of an impact as the 2007 live movie had. This could help out the brand as the live action movies are not doing so well creatively and in the box office.

 

TRANSFORMERS ONE is the untold origin story of OPTIMUS PRIME and MEGATRON, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever. In the first-ever fully CG-animated TRANSFORMERS movie, TRANSFORMERS ONE features a star-studded voice cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi with Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm.

Remembering Power Rangers Lightning Collection

 It's sad that Hasbro has decided to stop all toy production on the Power Rangers brand and has licensed it to Playmates toys. Playmates will release Power Rangers toys in 2025 in what is expected to be reboot of the brand going back to MMPR.
